Gardaí have appealed for witnesses after a pedestrian hit by a car in Co Cork was left critically ill in hospital.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses after a pedestrian hit by a car in Co Cork was left critically ill in hospital.

The man was crossing the eastbound part of the dual carriageway on the N25 at Knockgriffin near Waterock Cross yesterday when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

He is currently in a critical condition at Cork University Hospital, a Garda spokesman said.
