Pedestrian (71) killed in Co Tyrone

A 71-year-old male pedestrian has died in the North after he was hit by a lorry.

A 71-year-old male pedestrian has died in the North after he was hit by a lorry.

The incident happened on the Loughmacrory Road in Omagh, Co Tyrone at about 10.10pm last night.

The crash is not being treated as a hit-and-run.

The Loughmacrory Road was closed for a number of hours following the incident but has since re-opened to traffic.

Police in Omagh have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them.
