The Progressive Democrats are undergoing further upheavals as one of the party's two appointees in the Government Information Service, Ms Kristin Quinn, this week leaves her post to join the ESB's public affairs department.

The party has placed an advertisement in today's editions of The Irish Times seeking a new general secretary to replace Mr Garvan McGinley, who announced his resignation recently. The post of party press officer, vacant since Ms Sara Morris left to become corporate affairs manager at Tesco last February, is expected to be filled within weeks.
