The Progressive Democrats general council has objected to another Government decision which has been approved by the Tanaiste, Ms Harney, by voting last weekend to express concern about the plan to build a national stadium, writes Mark Brennock, Political Correspondent

Last Saturday, the council - a policy-making forum made up of delegates from all constituencies - voted to express concern about the spending of about £230 million on the project. This was a watered-down version of a stronger motion. It was argued that the project involved an extravagant amount of State funds which could be better spent.
