The principal of a Tipperary school has warned parents that he may not be able to take new first year students in September because of a lack of accommodation.

Mr Shay Bannon of Ardscoil na mBraithre in Clonmel issued a statement yesterday accusing the Department of Education of discrimination against students and staff. The school was built for 320 students and now has 684, he said.

A spokesman for the Department said the funding had not been included in the 1996 programme because of budget constraints.
