The parents of murdered Lance-Bombardier Stephen Restorick yesterday planted a symbolic tree of hope in an effort to bring Catholic and Protestant schoolchildren closer together.

The Peterborough couple took part in a ceremony to commemorate Northern Ireland's suffering during a visit to Antrim. Their son was shot dead by an IRA sniper in south Armagh in February.
