A 22-year-old man partially paralysed after a fall at work was awarded £1.68 million compensation in the High Court in Belfast yesterday.

Mr Greg Maybin, from Beechfield Drive, Annalong, Co Down, broke his back in the fall five years ago at a new housing development in Larne.

Mr Maybin, who was an apprentice bricklayer, sued subcontractor Cecil Newell, of Annalong, and Fraser Homes Ltd, trading as Moore Homes, Belfast.
