The senior Palestinian negotiator in the Middle East peace process, Mr Faisal Husseini, discussed the peace talks in Dublin yesterday with the Tanaiste, Mr Spring. Mr Husseini's visit was in the context of Ireland's preparations for the EU presidency, during which the Middle East is likely to be a major issue.
Today, the Arab League secretary general, Dr Esmat Abdel Meguid, will also have talks in Dublin with the Tanaiste. He will also make a courtesy call on the President, Mrs Robinson.
