Two men charged in connection discovery of a large quantity of detonating-cord were further remanded in custody until next month at the Special Criminal Court in Dublin yesterday. Mr Denis Lahiff (45), single, of Carrick Road, Portlaw, Co Waterford, and Mr Simon Kieran Maxwell (30), married, of Stonehall, Multyfarnham, Co Westmeath, are each charged with having 258ft of detonating cord containing the explosives PETN and RDX with intent to endanger life at Ballyonan, Moyvalley, Enfield, Co Kildare, on February 17th. They are also charged with having an explosive substance on the same date.

The two were remanded in custody until April 23rd.
