Victims of the Omagh bomb were remembered yesterday by young people taking part in this year's Credit Union Community Games at Mosney, Co Meath. In a gesture of cross-Border friendship, Monaghan's variety team rearranged its performance to include a musical tribute.

Lights were dimmed at the end of the Carrickmacross performance and a recitation was given to recall the Omagh tragedy against a backdrop of the Omagh church where the memorial services were held.

Four of the victims, Sean McLaughlin, James Barker and Oran Doherty from Buncrana and Co Tyrone schoolgirl Jolene Marlow had participated in previous community games.
