Laois football manager Mick O'Dwyer is the strong favourite to become Dublin's newest manager despite new reports that he will be staying with his current county.

Boylesports have slashed the odds on Mick O'Dwyer to be the next Dublin boss from 6/1 this morning to 5/6 following a flurry of bets on the Kerry legend throughout the day.

"We have taken a constant flow of bets on Micko all day from 6/1 through to 6/5 on. Despite reports ... that Micko would stay with Laois, many of our customers are very confident he will be the next Dubs manager," said Paul Magee, Boylesports spokesperson.

The Kerryman was reportedly unhappy with low turnout at a Saturday team meeting.

There was confusion as to whether adequate notification had been given and O'Dwyer is believed to have been angry with county officials.

Next in the betting is Brian Mullins at 5/2 with John O'Mahony third favourite at 9/2, said Magee.
