O2 Ireland has teamed up with Yahoo to offer cutsomers access to the search giant's OneSearch service through O2's mobile portal.

The agreement is part of a deal with O2's parent company Telefonica to provide simialr servcies to its subsidiaries, which operate in 15 countries in Europe and Latin America.

OneSearch is designed to be used with mobile devices, and delivers results directly in the first screen. Customers will be able to access news, financial information, weather conditions, Flickr photos, Web images, as well as websites.

Chief executive of O2 Ireland Danuta Gray said that partners liek Yahoo were essential to help the company's move from being a pure mobile operator to a multimedia company.
