O'Hara appointed to Fyffes board

The former general manager of Intel Ireland has been appointed as a non-executive director of fruit distributor Fyffes.

The former general manager of Intel Ireland has been appointed as a non-executive director of fruit distributor Fyffes.

Mr Jim O'Hara (61) was also formerly vice president of Intel Corporation.

He is currently a board member of Allied Irish Bank, EBS and Enterprise Ireland and is also chairman of a number of start-up firms.

Commenting on the appointment, Fyffes chairman David McCann said he was very pleased that Mr O'Hara had agreed to join the board.

"He has broad commercial experience both as an executive and more recently as a non-executive director in a number of different businesses and is highly regarded by the business community in Ireland. We look forward to his contribution to the future development of the group,” said Mr McCann.
