The Government has been accused of reneging on its commitment to freedom of information by seeking to deny refugees access to the media.
The National Union of Journalists claims that the 1995 Refugee Bill gives the Minister for Justice power to prevent a journalist from covering a refugee's case even if the refugee wants to publicise it.
