On Saturday morning gardaí went to Mary Ryan’s residence at Sherrard Street, Dublin 1, and found her unconscious at the foot of the stairs. She was brought to the Mater hospital, were she subsequently died.

Yesterday, Waldemar Solowiow (44), with an address at a flat on Sherrard Street, was brought before Dublin District Court charged with the murder of Ms Ryan at the home they shared.
