A man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of rugby player Shane Geoghegan (28) in Limerick in 2008.

A man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of rugby player Shane Geoghegan (28) in Limerick in 2008.

Barry Doyle (26), Portland Row, Dublin, is charged with murdering the Garryowen player on November 9th, 2008, at Clonmore, Kilteragh, Dooradoyle.

A jury of nine men and three women has been sworn in to hear the five-week trial at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin However, Mr Justice Garrett Sheehan told the jurors that a legal issue had arisen that must be dealt with in their absence. He told them to return on Monday, January 30th.
