The Northern conflict has become "internationalised" through the current peace process, according to US Congressman, Mr Peter King, who was in Belfast yesterday launching a major investment project for west Belfast. Welcoming the start of substantive talks at Stormont, Mr King said it was significant that through the involvement of the international talk's chairmen and the establishment of the independent international disarmament commission, the peace process had taken on an international dimension.
"It's not just the British government resolving the problem, it's not just the Irish Government, it's outside mediators, and outside economic forces such as the International Fund for Ireland (IFI), having an involvement," he said.
