GENEVA - The UN food agency said yesterday that North Korea was on the verge of famine and urgently appealed for funds to finance aid to stops starvation.
The World Food Programme (WFP), the main agency involved in getting supplies into North Korea, said it had raised only $34 million (£22 million) out of an appeal for $95 million for North Korea and this was far from enough to meet emergency needs.
