There are no immediate plans to transfer the four long-serving IRA prisoners known as the Balcombe Street gang from England to Portlaoise, according to Government sources, Jim Cusack, Security Correspondent, writes.

The four men, who have served 22 years, are still waiting for the British Home Secretary to decide appropriate release dates before they can be transferred to serve the rest of their sentences here.
