Rome - Pope John Paul II yesterday quashed speculation that Mother Teresa would be put on a fast track to sainthood, saying the process would follow its normal course.
Asked by reporters aboard a papal flight to Brazil whether rules would be bent to allow Mother Teresa to achieve sainthood more quickly than normal, the Pope said: "I think it is necessary to follow the normal way."
