Police in Northern Ireland and England have arrested nine people in two separate raids and seized drugs worth an estimated £1m (€1.15m).

Police stopped and searched a lorry in Kilkeel in Co Down yesterday and made five arrests.

In follow-up searches in Belfast, £100,000 cash and 6kg of amphetamines were recovered.

In a subsequent search as part of the same operation in Manchester three men and a woman were arrested after 20kg of the same drug was found in a house in Preston.
