NI teenager charged over schoolboy stabbing

A teenager was charged tonight in connection with the stabbing of a schoolboy in Co Antrim.

A teenager was charged tonight in connection with the stabbing of a schoolboy in Co Antrim.

The 13-year-old is expected to appear before a specially convened sitting of Ballymena Magistrates Court this evening charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, the PSNI confirmed.

The victim, also 13, was knifed in the chest following a playground fight at Ballymoney High School yesterday.

The victim was treated at Causeway Hospital in Coleraine but his injury was not life-threatening.

The principal of the high school Rodney Scott described the knife attack as unprecedented.
