A prisoner was recaptured last night after trying to escape while in police custody at a Belfast hospital where he was receiving treatment.

The man jumped through a window at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald, landing on a lower-floor roof.

He was chased and caught by PSNI officers.

The man and a pursuing officer were injured and had to have medical treatment at the hospital, but neither was seriously hurt.
