Two men appeared in court today charged with the murder of a hospital porter at his flat near Belfast.

David Hamilton's body was discovered at his home at Gleneagles Gardens on the Ballybeen Estate, Dundonald, last week after he failed to turn up for work at a nearby Ulster Hospital.

The 40-year-old who lived alone, had suffered serious head injuries.

Mr Mark Kincaid (23), a window cleaner from Ardmore Avenue, Ballybeen, and Mr William Anderson (22), unemployed from Gleneagles Gardens, Ballybeen, were remanded in custody when they appeared before Newtownards Magises Court in Co Down.

The court heard that both men denied the charge.

A detective inspector told the court she believed she could connect both men to the murder. She said there was evidence to connect Mr Anderson to the crime, but not the crime scene.

She added that at the moment evidence against Mr Kincaid was a fingerprint on a piece of glass.

Both men were remanded in custody to reappear at the same court via video link on December 31st.

A third person is in custody being questioned by detectives about the murder.
