NI man arrested for Gran Canaria murder

A Co Antrim man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Nigerian woman on Gran Canaria.

A Co Antrim man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Nigerian woman on Gran Canaria.

Vincent Traynor (19), has been accused of killing the 23-year-old, whose body was found on the Cochino beach, near the town of San Bartolome de Tirajana.

Mr Traynor, from Loughguile, Co Antrim, was arrested last week on the popular Spanish holiday island.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We can confirm that a British national was arrested on July 11th accused of murder.

"Next of kin have been informed and consular staff are providing the appropriate assistance."
