More than 1,000 lorry drivers from Northern Ireland were trapped in the snow along the Scottish border yesterday.

More than 1,000 lorry drivers from Northern Ireland were trapped in the snow along the Scottish border yesterday.

No lorries were allowed to drive along the A75 between Stranraer and Dumfries. The lorry drivers had travelled over on the ferry from Larne, Co Antrim.

But there was good news for a group of people who left London on Monday on an Ulsterbus service to Belfast. After being stranded in Carlisle they caught a train to Glasgow and arrived home on Tuesday night.
