A Mayo newsagent won the Newsagent of the Year prize at a ceremony in Dublin last night. The owners of Headlines newsagent in Castlebar won first prize of a Suzuki van in the awards, organised by the Irish Retail Newsagents' Association. The regional winners were the Dalkey News Centre in Dublin, Matthews in Clones, Co Monaghan, Noel Kelly of Monasterevin, Co Kildare, and McMahons of Ennis, Co Clare.
Mr John Dolan, of Dolan's news agency, Philipsburgh Avenue, Dublin 3, was the winner of The Irish Times newsagents' competition prize, a weekend for two in London.
