THE Evening News has "suspended" publication from today due to difficult trading. The board met in Birr, Co Offaly, last night to confirm the decision.
The first issue of the Evening News was published on May 27th. The company has only suspended publication but the possibility of finding new investment would appear slim.
The Minister for Enterprise and Employment, Mr Richard Bruton, criticised the investors, saying he expected the newspaper to have had the necessary financial backing for at least one year.
