Security and recruitment group Newcourt Group has announced the conditional placing of 6,900,000 new shares raising €9

Security and recruitment group Newcourt Group has announced the conditional placing of 6,900,000 new shares raising €9.1 million before expenses.

The company, which operates through a range of businesses including Sigmar Group and Federal Security, is pursuing expansion to benefit from faster economic growth in Ireland. It already employs about 1,500 people nationwide.

Since the beginning of the year, Newcourt has completed the acquisition of Kenny-Whelan & Associates Limited, the Cork-based outsourcing HR specialists and The People Group, a Dublin-based sales and marketing recruitment group.

The company was created in 2002 by Ted O'Neill and Philip Sykes, a former director of AIB Corporate Finance.
