New York tabloid editor resigns

New York - Pete Hamill resigned as editor of New York's daily News yesterday after just eight months on the job, the newspaper said. His resignation ended weeks of speculation that its owner Mort Zuckerman was unhappy about the paper's tone and declining circulation.
