BRUSSELS - Investigators searching an old coal mine at a property belonging to convicted child rapist Marc Dutroux are looking for bodies, Belgian radio said yesterday, citing a senior police official. Police began searching the tunnel in the southern town of Jumet on Friday after Dutroux described the site as "interesting".

On Saturday, police described the search of the two km tunnel as long and arduous. "We are searching but we don't know what we're looking for," a spokesman for Charleroi police said. Dutroux and his wife, Michele Martin, were driven to Jumet on Friday.
