The minimum educational requirements for recruitment to the Garda have been broadened to reflect reforms of the traditional Leaving Certificate.
The changes are designed to allow students of the Leaving Cert Vocational Programme and the Applied Leaving Cert to compete on the same basis as graduates of the established Leaving Cert.
