The Government has announced the appointment of Mr Justice Diarmuid Sheridan as president of the Circuit Court, succeeding the late Mr Justice Frank Spain. Judge Sheridan has held the position on an acting basis for six months. The Government also nominated Mr Justice Matthew P. Smith to be a judge of the High Court. He is currently a judge of the Circuit Court.
