A new 18 metre passenger ferry for Clare Island, Co Mayo, was launched in Arklow by the Minister of State for Western Development, Mr Donal Carey, at the weekend. The £500,000 vessel, Pirate Queen, will run between Westport and the island, across Clew Bay, and can carry 96 passengers and cargo.
