The joint government body that co-ordinates the search for remains of those abducted and secretly buried by paramilitaries during the Troubles is examining a new case.

Peter Wilson, a 21-year-old west Belfast man with learning difficulties, went missing in 1973.

It has been reported that the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims’ Remains has met members of Mr Wilson’s family and that an investigation by them is at a very early stage.

The commission confirmed Mr Wilson’s disappearance was reported to it and initial inquiries were being made.
