New book on Pinochet

The veteran journalist and broadcaster, Mr Hugh O'Shaughnessy, introduced his latest book on the former Chilean dictator, Gen Augusto Pinochet, entitled Pinochet: The Politics of Torture, in Belfast's One World Centre. Mr O'Shaughnessy, who has covered Latin America as a journalist for almost four decades and was working in Chile when Gen Pinochet overthrew the socialist president, Mr Salvador Allende, in 1973, called for the establishment of a "proper" truth and reconciliation commission in the South American country.
