The actor Liam Neeson who plays Michael Collins in Neil Jordan's film of the same name, has defended it against complaints that it lacks historical accuracy.
Speaking on BBC1's Film 96 last night, he said: "We are proud of this film. We've told the story honestly, we feel it's historically accurate, given the broad context."
