The Naval Service vessel, the LE Aoife, detained a French trawler for alleged illegal fishing 90 miles west of Liscannor Bay, Co Clare, on Wednesday. The trawler was escorted to Castletownbere, Co Cork, where it arrived yesterday morning. The Naval Service has detained 18 fishing vessels so far this year.
