Crew members from two detained Spanish flagships came to the assistance of a Naval crewman in Castletownbere Harbour, Co Cork, yesterday after he accidentally fell into the water.
The Spanish crew, who had been detained by the Naval Service off the Irish coast at the weekend, made several attempts to assist the crew member from the LE Aoife. The man, wearing safety gear, was picked up unharmed by a Naval Service inflatable.
