BRUSSELS - NATO yesterday agreed the post Ifor peacekeeping force in Bosnia should be committed to the region until mid-1998, as proposed by the United States.

The mandate of the current 60,000 strong Implementation Force expires on December 20th. It will be replaced by a Stabilisation Force of about 31,000 men.
