A Central Criminal Court jury has been discharged after failing to reach a verdict in the trial of a Wicklow man charged with the fatal shooting of a father of two in front of his partner and young son.

Garrett O’Brien (34), Clover Hill, Bray, pleaded not guilty to murdering Séamus “Shay” O’Byrne (27), at Tymon Park North, Tallaght on March 13th, 2009. He denied a charge of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
