Preston - The jurors in the trial of Dr Harold Shipman, accused of killing 15 women patients, were sent home for the weekend yesterday after five days of deliberations.

The judge at Preston Crown Court, Justice Thayne Forbes, told jurors he was concerned they should not become too tired after "a very demanding and tiring week" and told them to go home and rest for the weekend.
