Murder inquiry after Lithuanian killed in Meath

A murder investigation has begun after a Lithuanian man was killed at a house in Ashbourne at the weekend.

A murder investigation has begun after a Lithuanian man was killed at a house in Ashbourne at the weekend.

Roburtas Kontautas (41) died following an assault at a house in St Johnswood Drive on Saturday night.

It is understood a number of men were at a drinking party in the house when a fight broke out.

A man (23) was arrested in Ashbourne yesterday and questioned at Trim Garda Station.

He has since been released and a file is to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
