A dentist facing a double murder charge was accused today of indecently assaulting four women over a 10-year period.

Dr Colin Howell, 49, who is already in custody charged with the murders of his wife and a police officer in May 1991, was also accused of administering stupefying and overpowering drugs to enable him to commit indecent assaults on his alleged victims.

It is claimed they took place between March 1998 and December last year.

Howell, who once ran a dental practice in Ballymoney, County Antrim, did not speak during a brief three-minute hearing at North Antrim Magistrates’ Court in Coleraine, County Derry.
