AN 18-year-old man from Co Leitrim appeared at a special sitting of Ballyconnell District Court, Co Cavan, yesterday.
Brendan McGovern, Killahurk, Carrigallen, was charged with the murder of Johnny Golden (73), who was found by neighbours at his isolated cottage at Doogarry, Co Cavan, on September 7th, last year.
Mr McGovern made no reply when the murder charge was read out to him. No bail application was made and he was remanded in custody.
Mr McGovern will appear again in relation to the murder charge at Virginia District Court, Co Cavan, on Friday next.
