PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe will deliver the keynote address at the 1997 Irish Times/Harvard University Colloquium, which will be held on Monday evening at the O'Reilly Hall, UCD, Belfield.

Mr Mugabe will address the theme "Africa: Recognition of the Past - Remedies for the Future". The principal respondent speaker will be Mr Peter Sutherland, the former director-general of the World Trade Organisation, who is chairman of the Overseas Development Council.

There will be a question-and-answer session moderated by the Executive Dean of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, Dr Sheila Burke, after the two main speakers have delivered their papers.

Mr Mugabe arrives in Dublin tomorrow. He will meet the President, Mrs Robinson, on Monday morning and later will attend a lunch hosted by the Taoiseach, Mr Bruton, at Iveagh House.

The Irish Times/Harvard University Colloquia address major issues of politics and government and are held every second year, alternating in venue between Dublin and Harvard.
