Mowlam praises security forces

The Northern Secretary yesterday paid tribute to the security forces after her first formal meeting with the RUC Chief Constable, Mr Ronnie Flanagan, and the British General Officer Commanding, Lieut Gen Sir Rupert Smith. Dr Mo Mowlam said: "We are committed to upholding democracy and the rule of law and the defeat of terrorism and fully support the security forces. We will work with them to maximise support and confidence throughout the community."
