London - The head of Britain's press watchdog met 12 newspaper editors yesterday to agree a new media code of practice after Princess Diana's death. Lord Wakeham, chairman of the Press Complaints Commission, wants to move quickly after paparazzi were widely blamed for contributing to Diana's death in Paris on August 31st. "In our dealings with Diana, we behaved like children and we never had enough of her. The paparazzi were chasing her on our behalf because we did not know when to stop," The Independent on Sunday confessed.
British newspapers have promised not to print paparazzi photographs of Prince William (15) and Prince Harry (13) and not to breach their privacy with unauthorised photographs.
