A local authority was urged by a coroner yesterday to make safe a treacherous crossing on the main Dublin Wexford motorway after the death of a 16 year old Bray student.

Dr Bartley Sheehan, the Dublin County Coroner, said that according to gardai pedestrians were already using an unofficial walkway to cross the M11 motorway at Kilcroney, Bray, on to the Enniskerry road.

Yesterday's inquest in Dun Laoghaire was told Ms Tina Marie Treacy (16), of Kilbride Grove, Bray, sustained fatal brain and spinal injuries while crossing the motorway.
