London - In England yesterday, dozens of motorists had a lucky escape when fireball explosions swept across a busy motorway from a propane gas lorry after it was hit by another vehicle. One man died and a second was injured when the truck was struck by a heavy goods vehicle after breaking down near Basingstoke in Hampshire.

Shocked motorists watched in horror as between 20 and 30 gas bottles began to explode from the inferno like popcorn, some hurling themselves up to 400 metres from the scene of the crash.
